The Adoption Connection
Juni, the cat
Juni is a 6 year old Himalayan.
She has been spayed and is up to date on her vaccinations. She does have her claws but easily tolerates trimming. Her original owner relinquished her because they moved out of the country. She had been placed in a home with other cats and dogs and did not do well there. She was used to being the only pet getting lots and lots of attention. She is a lover and a snuggler. She just needs to be in a home as the only pet.
Adopt Juni through felinecountryclub.org.
Darby, the dog
Darby is a very sweet dog and loves attention. He especially likes to have his ears and neck scratched. He travels very well and sleeps most of the way on a trip. Darby is good on a lead and doesn’t pull too much after his initial excitement abates. Darby knows basic obedience and will sit, down, shake, kiss and heel. He minds very well and always wants to please.
Darby is housebroken, he has never had an accident in the house. Darby is excellent left loose and doesn’t bother anything even when left alone for several hours. He is crate trained and readily goes into the crate on command but he prefers not being in the crate. He is 5 years old.
Darby is good with Humans once he gets to know them but other dogs scare him because he was dominated by other dogs. He has several scars on his back legs presumably from being attacked by other dogs when his back was turned or when he was running away from them. Because of this he gets uncomfortable if another dog comes up behind him when he is laying down.
He is initially apprehensive of anything new that he hasn’t seen before but he will eventually settle down. He startles at loud noises sometimes, especially indoors. A quieter environment would suit Darby best but he does adapt.
Adopt Darby through Doberman Rescue of Nebraska.
